A pipa is a instrument that is made by the Japanese, who make a pipette, the instrument which measures the amount of sound in a single sample.
In order to play a pipas, the musicians are asked to repeat the same note in each string position.
They play it from left to right, one at a time.
The instrument was first used by the samurai of Japan in the early days of the samurai era, but became popular in the United States as early as the 1930s.
