The pianist, a former prison inmate, becomes the subject of a new murder mystery, with a new twist.
“The Piano,” which airs Sunday at 9 p.m., will examine the piano’s mysterious connection to the killer.
Here’s how to play it.
“This episode takes us into the heart of the crime scene, the murder scene, where this man, the victim, the murderer, the piano, is buried,” executive producer Jason Mantzoukas tells TODAY.
“There are a lot of clues, and he doesn’t seem to have left a mark.
And there are clues that are leading us to this conclusion.”
The pianists death will be revealed in the episode, but Mantzoukss focus is on the piano as the piece of evidence that leads the detectives to the murderer.
“I’m going to focus on this piano,” he says.
“We’re going to explore all of its history, all of the nuances, the nuances that we don’t know what the motive is behind it, the motive that this man has, or why this man would kill his own mother.”
The piano will appear in the first episode of the season, “The Mystery.”
The Piano is written and directed by “The Simpsons,” who also wrote and executive produced the show.
